Today I want to talk to you about something that happens during almost every real estate transaction: stress. This is especially true when you are the seller. But, over the years, I have learned a few things about how to curb your stress. So I would like to share these tips with you today.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. There will be complications that arise during your transaction, but don’t overthink them. Instead, stay positive and communicate with your Realtor throughout the process.
Communication is key when selling your home. You need to stay in touch with your real estate broker every week. Our agents call our clients once a week and give them a full summary of what is going on. This helps them stay ahead of what is going on out in the marketplace.
Preparation is key. You need to be prepared for any outcome. Your home may sell quickly, or it might sit on the market for a few months. I would recommend that you sit down with your family and talk about different plans so that you can be prepared for any scenario. This way, you won’t be in a position where you are compromising equity.
Finally, listen to what the market is telling you. The market can change within a month. You could evaluate a price and the home sells very quickly, or you may need to make price adjustments. Be open to this idea and hire a professional that you trust and take their advice about it.
If you have any additional questions or are interested in buying or selling, please feel free to call or email. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
