There are many other festivals held in the area including the East Peoria Festival of Lights, Tremont Turkey Festival, Morton Pumpkin Festival and the Washington Cherry Festival. Mineral Springs Park is another option for residents. This park has a lagoon and is located near the Miller Senior Center and Pekin Hospital.
Residents of Pekin real estate are served by the Pekin PSD 108 School District. This district contains 11 schools with approximately 3,695 students enrolled. There are a number of businesses in Pekin including the Pekin Federal Correctional Institution, the United Auto Workers and Pekin Insurance, which has its home office here. The Pekin Municipal Airport is a transportation venue for the area and is located four miles south of the business district. There are also numerous advantages for employment within this area due to the location within the Peoria metro area.
